Black Bears are rare in the Territories themselves, but they are common in the lands surrounding them. The Scent Border keeps them from wreaking havoc on mouse life.
Bears are curious, smart and always hungry. They eat anything. To a black bear, the towns and the cities of the Territories are a series of delicious, gift-wrapped presents for him to unwrap and dig into at his leisure. Bears are active from the late spring to the late fall. They hibernate for the winter.[1]
